Nicole Loiodice, LMHC
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in the Hudson Valley, NY. I specialize in working with adolescents, their families, and young adults. Since I take a person-centered approach, meeting each person where they are is essential. I embrace everyone’s uniqueness and aim to empower. For therapy to be successful, you need to feel a connection with your therapist. I strive to create this foundation to help you achieve your goals.
When not working, you’ll likely find me painting, watching documentaries, being out in nature - in the sunshine!, lounging with my cat, or experimenting with food.
My Therapeutic Approach
Words may not always come easy. As a result, I embody the use of expressive arts therapy. Maybe we will do a collage when we are unsure of what to say, create a music playlist of our lives, fingerpaint when we feel angry, or dig out fingers into dirt when we are feeling out of our body. Life can be messy so let’s get messy with it!
I believe our bodies have true power. Have you ever felt tension in your muscles from stress or fear? What about a looseness when you are relaxed? Life easily gets in the way but do you ever check-in with your body? Our bodies have a way of holding onto and releasing many things. Maybe we need to take a walk, dance it out, or breathe through pain. When was the last time you paused and identified how your body felt? I aim to explore all this and more.
